Apart from a refrigerator, the domestic cooker is the most frequently used appliance in the average home. It is regularly used for several hours at a time and operates at high energy levels, particularly when self cleaning during a pyrolitic cycle. To maximise efficiency, it is essential that the cooker should be insulated to the highest standard to prevent energy wastage through unwanted heat leakage. The thinnest insulation to maximise cooking capacity
Most electric cookers and ovens conform to a standard overall width specification to comply with the requirements of "built-in" kitchen furniture. By selecting from the most thermally efficient insulation products available, a Promat insulation solution is the thinnest on the market for a given performance level. This means that a cooker insulated with a Promat system can offer the largest internal cooking volume.

Promat meets the difficulties of oven design
Energy efficient oven design is often difficult due to the various connecting items such as fans, lights etc, all of which are potential heat leakage paths. Design of pyrolitic ovens becomes even more difficult due to the high temperature of the automatic cleaning process. A pyrolitic oven has a cleaning cycle that is able to destroy all cooking residues by holding a temperature of around 500 °C (932 °F) for up to 90 minutes. All the oven “dirt” is carbonised leaving only a fine ash. This very high temperature obviously necessitates an improved insulation system to maintain the oven efficiency rating. The most effective way of achieving this insulation performance, while still maintaining the maximum internal oven volume, is by the use of a Promat solution based on MICROTHERM® flexible panels.

Domestic cookers

A modern electric fan assisted cooker is a complex assembly, mainly due to the extra components involved in the sophisticated control capabilities. Light, sensors, and of course the fan itself must all be accommodated by the insulation system. The insulation must fit as tightly as possible around all penetrating items to keep heat leakage to an absolute minimum.

A flexible microporous insulation panel such as MICROTHERM® QUILTED offer the thinnest possible insulation protection, is clean to handle and can be pre-shaped for fast and easy assembly. Each component can be factory shaped with accurate laser cut penetrations for the most precise fit.

PROMASIL®-1100 board is a lightweight calcium silicate board with excellent strength and insulation properties. It can also be shaped precisely and offers the additional benefit of strength for support.

PROMAGLAF®-HTK bio-soluble high temperature wool can be hand shaped during assembly and fitted around the most complex assemblies.
