Ferrous metals

Iron exists naturally in iron ore and is the fourth most abundant element (around 5%) of the earth’s crust. Iron becomes steel and is processed into the multitude of steel components in use today. Non-ferrous metals

A non-ferrous metal is any metal, including alloys, that does not contain iron in appreciable amounts. Non-ferrous metals are used because of desirable properties such as low weight, higher electrical or thermal conductivity, non magnetic, or resistance to corrosion.
