Promat HPI solutions in multi-metal applications

The manufacture and processing of any metal are, by definition, energy intensive processes. Aluminium melts at 660 °C. Steel, depending on the grade, can melt at a temperature in excess of 1500 °C. Large inputs of energy are necessary to generate and hold these temperatures and to use this energy wisely, Promat HPI supply state of the art high performance insulation systems that will minimise heat losses and energy wastage from any process.

Ferrous metals

Iron exists naturally in iron ore and is the fourth most abundant element (around 5%) of the earth’s crust. Iron becomes steel and is processed into the multitude of steel components in use today. Each stage of ferrous metal processing requires high temperatures. Promat HPI insulation solutions applied throughout the plant will optimise energy usage and minimise process costs.

Non-ferrous metals

A non-ferrous metal is any metal, including alloys, that does not contain iron in appreciable amounts. Non-ferrous metals are used because of desirable properties such as low weight, higher electrical or thermal conductivity, non magnetic, or resistance to corrosion. As non-ferrous metals are more expensive, processing costs are critical. Promat HPI solutions save space and money.
